Mary Smith - A Schoolgirl’s War Mary was the Head Teacher at a girl’s school in Kent. Whilst there, Mary and her colleagues found a schoolgirl’s wartime diary as well as the school’s underground air raid shelter. The diary was full of sketches and paintings. These along with the memories of former pupils have helped Mary put together a fascinating story.
